Casa Venezia

A study in restraint texture, doing the job decoration usually does, and the light doing the rest. Polished plaster, hand-burnished, with a reclaimed copper-framed mirror

LOCATION : Private residence

FINISH: Polished plaster

COLOUR: Soft ivory

DURATION: 5 working days

OVERVIEW

A period bathroom brought back to one quiet material, polished plaster taken to a soft sheen, every corner trowelled instead of tiled.

THE CHALLENGE

Getting the finishto match across several wall junctions and a shower recess, with no visible seam, in a room that didn't give me much natural light to work with.

THE OUTCOME

A room with the hush of an old Venetian interior, the light moves across the surface instead of just bouncing off it.
